About
Jim Andresen is a legal operations executive, technologist, and writer exploring the structural shifts redefining how legal expertise is delivered.
He currently serves as COO of a personal injury law firm, where he has spent over a decade leading operations, managing technology strategy, and building the internal systems required to run a high-volume practice effectively. Before that, he led teams at another plaintiff firm, giving him a cross-firm view of how legal practices actually run — and where they break down. His career before the legal industry spanned a series of leadership roles in nonprofit organizations, and his formal education includes studies in theology and organizational leadership in Australia and executive studies at the Wharton School.
That combination of operational depth, technical fluency, and cross-industry perspective is what drives his writing. The essays on this site examine the intersection of professional services, artificial intelligence, and firm infrastructure — from the vantage point of someone who manages these challenges daily, not from the outside looking in.
Jim is also the CEO of LawWorks, an integrated operational platform for law firms currently in closed beta with public launch planned for June 2026. LawWorks grew directly out of the problems he couldn't find adequate solutions to in the existing legal tech market — and the ideas explored on this site are the intellectual foundation behind what the company is building.
